Schedule posts for later

Scheduling sets a future date and time for a post to publish on its own, without you having to come back and press Post Now. You can schedule from the Content page, in bulk, or from the post’s page.

Before you start

  • The post must already exist. There is no scheduling step inside the Create Post dialog. Create the post first (written yourself or with AI), then schedule it afterwards.
  • Scheduling sets a time. It does not approve the post. A post that is still Pending when its scheduled time arrives will not publish until you approve it.

Schedule from the Content page

  1. On the Content page, find the post’s row.
  2. Select the Schedule icon (the calendar icon) in the row’s action buttons.
  3. In the Schedule dialog, set a Date and a Time.
  4. Select Schedule.

The dialog shows your device’s timezone underneath the title (for example, “Timezone: America/Chicago”) so you know what the date and time you enter refer to. The date and time you set are interpreted in that timezone. If the post has no scheduled time yet, the dialog defaults to tomorrow at 10:00 in your local time. Change it before selecting Schedule if you want a different time.

If the post already has a scheduled time, the same dialog opens pre-filled with that date and time so you can adjust it.

Schedule several posts at once

  1. On the Content page, turn on select mode and check the rows you want to schedule.
  2. In the bulk action bar, select Schedule.
  3. Set a Date and Time in the dialog and select Schedule.

The same date and time is applied to every selected post. If some posts in the selection can’t be scheduled, you see a message naming how many failed, for example “Some posts failed to schedule (2 of 5).”

Schedule or reschedule from the post’s page

  1. Open the post from the Content page.
  2. Under Group Actions, select Schedule (or Reschedule, if the post already has a scheduled time).
  3. Set a Date and Time in the dialog and select Schedule.

What happens after you schedule

  • The post keeps whatever status it already had (Pending or Approved). Scheduling only records a time. It doesn’t change status.
  • If the post is Approved and scheduled, it publishes automatically once its scheduled time arrives. You don’t need to do anything else.
  • If the post is still Pending when its scheduled time arrives, it does not publish. It has missed its publication, so it moves to Expired — approve a scheduled post before its time arrives. See Review and approve your posts. An expired post isn’t gone: you can reactivate it and give it a new time.
  • If a publish attempt hits a temporary problem (for example, a brief outage on the social network’s side), the app keeps retrying automatically for up to about 2 hours from the scheduled time. If it still hasn’t gone through after that, the post is marked Failed and stops retrying. See Fix a post that didn’t publish.

If something goes wrong

“You’ve hit your plan limit” / “You’ve used {X} of {Y} scheduled posts.” Your plan limits how many approved posts can be scheduled for the future at the same time. Approve and publish or reject some of your other scheduled posts, or upgrade your plan.
