Set up your brand
A brand is the identity PostSignoff writes and publishes for: its name, voice, sign-off, colors, logo, and (if you turn it on) its compliance rules. Set one up before you connect social accounts or create posts.
Before you start
You need to be signed in. You already have a starter brand. PostSignoff created it automatically when you signed up (named after you, e.g. “Jane’s Business”). Edit that one instead of adding a new one.
Steps
- Go to Brands.
- Select Add Brand, or select a brand from the list on the left and select Edit.
- Enter a Name. This is the only required field.
- Optionally enter a Website and a Description.
- Set your Voice Configuration:
- Tone: Professional, Casual, Witty, Authoritative, Friendly, Bold, or Entertaining.
- Style: Educational, Promotional, Conversational, Storytelling, Helpful, or Entertaining.
- Topics (comma-separated) and Avoid Topics (comma-separated): lists that steer what AI-generated posts write about and avoid.
- Under Branding, fill in:
- Sign-off: up to 100 characters, added to the end of every post.
- Brand hashtags (comma-separated, up to 3): without the
#symbol. They’re always included on your posts. - Brand colors: up to 3 colors, used to style AI-generated images. Select + Add color to add one. Select an existing color’s swatch to change it.
- Apply to new posts automatically: leave this checked to have your sign-off, hashtags, and colors applied to every new post without asking.
- Check Enable compliance review before approval if you want posts checked against regulatory rules before you can approve them.
- With compliance review enabled, set (all optional):
- Compliance pack: choose one, if a pack list is shown. A pack list that fails to load falls back to the default pack instead. See “If something goes wrong” below.
- Attestation text: shown next to the acknowledgement checkbox when a post has unresolved findings. Defaults to “I confirm this post complies.” if you leave it blank.
- Custom rules: any rules specific to your brand.
- Select Save Changes.
Add a logo
You can only upload a logo after the brand has been saved once.
- On a saved brand, in edit mode, find the Logo section at the top of the form.
- Select Upload logo and choose an image file. It uploads immediately. You don’t need to select Save Changes for the logo.
- To remove it, select Remove.
The logo is used by the image editor’s branding templates. PNG with transparency works best. Logos must be 10MB or smaller, and must be an image (PNG, JPEG, WebP, or GIF).
Leaving with unsaved changes
If you try to switch brands, select Add Brand, or leave the page while you have unsaved edits, PostSignoff stops you with an “Unsaved changes” prompt. Choose Save Changes to save and continue, Discard to drop your edits and continue, or Cancel to stay on the form.
If something goes wrong
“Save your business first, then add your logo here.”: Shown in place of the logo uploader when you’re creating a new brand. Select Save Changes first, then come back to add a logo.
“Unsupported logo type: {file type}”: Your logo file isn’t a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or GIF. Convert it or choose a different file.
“Logo too large: {size}MB exceeds 10MB limit”: Your logo file is over 10MB. Resize or compress it and try again.
“Enter a valid website URL, e.g. https://example.com”: Your Website
entry isn’t a valid URL. A bare domain like example.com is filled in with
https:// for you automatically, so this usually means something else in
the address is malformed. Check it and try again.
“Please fix the highlighted fields.”: One or more fields failed validation when you selected Save Changes. Check the field(s) marked in red (most often Website) and correct them.
“Failed to save brand.”: Something went wrong saving your changes and no more specific message was available. Try again in a moment.
“Rule packs are not available right now — the default Medicare (CMS marketing rules) pack applies.”: Shown instead of the compliance pack list when the list of packs couldn’t be loaded. Compliance review still works. It uses the default pack.
