Connect your social accounts

Connecting an account gives PostSignoff permission to publish to it. Connect each social account your brand publishes to before you approve posts for it. Nothing publishes to a platform you haven’t connected.

Before you start

  • You need a brand set up first. See Set up your brand.
  • Connecting is a full-page hand-off: your browser leaves PostSignoff, you sign in on the platform’s own site, and it sends you back automatically. This is normal. Don’t close the tab partway through.
  • Facebook requires you to be an admin of the Facebook Page you want to connect.
  • LinkedIn requires you to be an admin of the organization you want to connect.
  • Instagram requires a business account linked to a Facebook Page. You select the Page during the Facebook step. If the linked Instagram account can’t be found, you can still finish connecting, but posts to Instagram won’t publish until you reconnect with a Page that has a linked business account.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings, then select Connections.
  2. Find your brand’s section and select + Connect account.
  3. In the Connect an account dialog, select a platform.
  4. You’re sent to that platform’s sign-in page. Sign in and approve access.
  5. For Facebook, choose the Page you want to connect in the Choose a Page step. For LinkedIn, choose the organization in the Choose an organization step.
  6. You land back on Connections with a “{Platform} connected” message, and the account now shows as Connected.

Platform tiles you can’t select

A platform tile is disabled if PostSignoff isn’t set up to connect that platform in your current environment. It’s labeled Not configured for this environment. This isn’t something you can fix from your account. Contact support if you need a platform enabled.

Reconnect an account

Connections can stop working: a token expires, or the platform revokes access. When that happens, the account shows an amber Expired or red Connection error status, with a note that posts to it will fail until you reconnect.

  1. Go to Settings, then select Connections.
  2. Find the account and select Reconnect.
  3. Sign in again on the platform’s site the same way as connecting for the first time. You’re sent back to Connections when it’s done.

Disconnect or remove an account

Both actions stop PostSignoff from publishing to that account. Select whichever button appears next to a connected account:

  • Disconnect: keeps the account listed so you can reconnect it later without setting it up again.
  • Remove: deletes the connection from this brand entirely. To use it again, you’ll connect it from scratch.
  1. Go to Settings, then select Connections.
  2. Select Disconnect or Remove next to the account.
  3. If the account has scheduled or approved posts, a dialog shows how many. Choose:
    • Move {Platform} posts to Pending (recommended): sends those posts back to your review queue so you can re-approve them once you reconnect.
    • Leave them scheduled: they’ll fail at their scheduled time unless you reconnect first.
  4. Confirm by selecting Disconnect or Remove.

Posts for your other connected channels aren’t affected either way. If you choose Move to Pending, any already-approved post for that platform goes back to Pending too. It will need a fresh approval before it can publish.

Health pills

Each brand’s Connections section shows a pill like “N of M healthy”. That’s the count of accounts currently in the Connected status out of all accounts you’ve connected for that brand. If you haven’t connected any accounts yet, it reads “No accounts”.

The on-page legend documents only the green Connected and amber Expired — reconnect to keep publishing dots. Red (Connection error) and grey (not connected) statuses appear on account rows but don’t have their own legend entry.

If something goes wrong

“Connection failed: {message}”: The platform returned an error during sign-in, or you cancelled partway through. Select + Connect account or Reconnect and try again.

“No Pages available — make sure you are an Admin of the Page.”: Your Facebook account isn’t an admin of any Page, so there’s nothing to connect. Ask the Page owner to make you an admin, then try again.

“No organizations available — make sure you are an Admin of the organization.”: Same issue on LinkedIn: you’re not an admin of any organization page.

Expired or Connection error status: The connection stopped working. Select Reconnect to sign in again. Posts to that platform won’t publish until you do.

“Failed to disconnect the account” / “Failed to remove the account”: A Disconnect or Remove request failed. PostSignoff shows the server’s specific error message when one is available. Otherwise you see this generic message. Try again in a moment.
