Manage how you sign in
Your Profile page lists every way you can sign in to PostSignoff: your password, plus any social accounts you’ve connected. It also lets you add or remove them.
Before you start
- You need at least one sign-in method at all times. PostSignoff won’t let you remove your last one.
- If you signed in more than 24 hours ago, you’ll need to sign in again before you can remove a sign-in method.
Steps
- Go to Settings, then select Profile.
- Find the Sign-in methods section. It lists Email & password (if you have one) and any connected social accounts (Google, Facebook, or X), usually with the date you added it.
Connect another sign-in method
- Below the list, in Connect another sign-in method, select Connect Google, Connect Facebook, or Connect X, whichever isn’t already connected. Only providers turned on for this installation appear here.
- Your browser leaves PostSignoff and takes you to that service’s sign-in page. Sign in and approve access.
- You’re returned to your Profile page. The provider now appears in your Sign-in methods list.
Disconnect a sign-in method
- On your Profile page, find the method in Sign-in methods.
- Select Disconnect next to it.
- The row disappears once it’s removed.
You can’t disconnect your only sign-in method. Its Disconnect button is grayed out.
If something goes wrong
“Your only sign-in method can’t be removed”: Shown as a tooltip on a grayed-out Disconnect button. Connect another sign-in method first, then you can remove this one.
“For security, sign in again before removing a sign-in method.”: Your current session is more than 24 hours old. Sign out and sign back in, then try disconnecting again.
“Couldn’t remove that sign-in method. It may be your only way to sign in.”: The removal request failed for another reason. Refresh the page to check your current sign-in methods, then try again.
“Couldn’t start linking. Please try again.”: Connecting a new sign-in method didn’t start. Try again in a moment.
“That X account isn’t linked to anything here yet — create an account first, then connect X from your Profile.”: X can’t create a new PostSignoff account by itself. This message only appears when you’re signing up or signing in, not when connecting X from an existing account.
“An account with this email already exists. Verify your email first, then try again or sign in with your password.”: The social account you tried to connect uses an email that already has a PostSignoff account. Confirm that account’s email, then try again.
“That account is already connected to a different user.”: This Google, Facebook, or X account is already linked to a different PostSignoff account. Sign in to that account instead, or connect a different social account.
“Social sign-in failed. Please try again or use your password.”: A generic failure while connecting or signing in with a social account. Try again, or use your email and password.
Changing your password
There’s no password field on the Profile page. To set a new password, sign out and use Forgot password? on the sign-in page. See Reset your password.
