Upgrade or change your plan

Use the Billing & Usage page to move to a paid plan, manage an existing subscription, redeem a code, or add extra storage.

Before you start

Go to Settings → Billing & Usage.

Steps

Upgrade from the Free plan

  1. On the Billing & Usage page, find the plan buttons below your usage cards. The buttons are labeled Upgrade to Starter and Upgrade to Pro, with no price shown on the button.
  2. Select Upgrade to Starter or Upgrade to Pro.
  3. You’re redirected to Stripe Checkout to enter payment details. Complete the checkout to activate the plan.
  4. Stripe returns you to the Billing & Usage page when checkout finishes.

Manage, downgrade, or cancel a paid plan

Once you’re on a paid plan, the page shows Manage subscription instead of the upgrade buttons.

  1. Select Manage subscription.
  2. You’re redirected to the Stripe Billing Portal. This is the only place in PostSignoff to downgrade, cancel, or update your payment method. There’s no downgrade or cancel option on the Billing & Usage page itself.
  3. Make your change in the portal, then return to PostSignoff.

If you cancel or schedule a downgrade in the portal, the Billing & Usage page does not show a warning banner or an “ending soon” notice. Your plan keeps showing as-is until the change actually takes effect.

Redeem a code

  1. On the Billing & Usage page, find the Have a code? field near the bottom.
  2. Enter your code and select Redeem.
  3. A message appears below the field: “Code redeemed.” on success.

Buy extra storage

  1. On the Billing & Usage page, find the storage section under “Need more media storage?”.
  2. Choose a quantity from the Blocks dropdown next to the storage option you want.
  3. Select the Buy {N} GB storage button.
  4. If you already have an active subscription, the add-on is added directly and you see “Storage added — your new limit is active.” Otherwise you’re redirected to Stripe Checkout to complete the purchase.

Storage add-ons stay with you even if you change plans. See Manage your storage space for how add-ons interact with your plan’s included storage and what happens if you’re still over your limit.

If something goes wrong

“Could not start the upgrade. Try again, or contact support if it keeps failing.”: Selecting Upgrade to Starter or Upgrade to Pro couldn’t start Stripe Checkout. Try again in a moment. If it keeps happening, contact support.

“There is no billing account to manage yet — upgrade to a paid plan first.”: You selected Manage subscription without an active billing account on file. Upgrade to a paid plan first, then use Manage subscription.

“Could not open the billing portal. Try again in a moment.”: Selecting Manage subscription from the Billing & Usage page couldn’t open the Stripe Billing Portal. Try again in a moment.

“Could not open the billing portal. Try again from the Billing page.”: This appears if you arrive at the payment-update link directly and it can’t open the Stripe Billing Portal. You’re returned to the Billing & Usage page. Select Manage subscription there to try again.

“That code is not valid.”: The code you entered doesn’t exist, is inactive, has expired, or has already been redeemed the maximum number of times. Double-check the code for typos.

“Redemption failed.”: The code couldn’t be redeemed for a reason other than the code itself being invalid. Try again in a moment, or contact support if it keeps failing.

“Storage add-ons are not configured yet. Contact support.”: The storage option you tried to buy isn’t available for purchase yet. Contact support.

“Could not start the storage purchase.”: Buying storage failed for another reason. Try again in a moment.

“You’re boosted to {PLAN} until {date}”: You’ll see a banner like this if support has temporarily granted your account a higher plan’s limits. The plan name in the banner is shown in all capitals and may not match the plan name shown elsewhere (for example, “PRO” instead of “Pro”). It still refers to that plan’s limits, and they apply until the date shown.
