Fix a suspended account
If PostSignoff shows a banner saying your account is suspended, you can still look at everything, but you can’t make changes until the account is reinstated. This page covers what the banner means, the most common cause, and how to fix it.
What the banner looks like
A suspended account shows a persistent banner at the top of every page:
Account suspended: payment_failed. You are in read-only mode.
The text after “Account suspended:” is the reason. payment_failed is the
most common one. It means your subscription payment didn’t go through. For
any other reason, the banner still tells you a reason, but the fix is
different. See Other suspension reasons below.
What read-only mode means
While your account is suspended, you can still sign in and view everything: your posts, media, brands, history, and settings. You can’t make any change that writes data. In practice, this covers:
- Create, edit, approve, reject, schedule, or publish posts
- Upload or edit media, or import media from stock or a server folder
- Save or edit templates, campaigns, or brand settings
- Change your Permission to Contact form or delete contacts
- Connect or disconnect a social account
- Generate AI text or images
- Run or acknowledge a compliance check
- Edit a capture form or regenerate its slug
- Reschedule a post from the calendar
- Buy storage, redeem a code, or change your plan
Any action that changes data is blocked until the account is reinstated.
Fix it: update your payment method
The most common cause is a failed subscription payment. PostSignoff suspends the account automatically when a payment fails, and reinstates it automatically as soon as the next payment succeeds. You don’t need to contact anyone for this specific case.
- Open the account menu and select Billing & Usage.
- Select Manage subscription. This opens the Stripe billing portal in a new page.
- In the Stripe portal, update your payment method and retry the payment (or wait for Stripe’s next automatic retry, if one is scheduled).
- Once the payment succeeds, your account is reinstated automatically and read-only mode is lifted. Because suspension signs you out of every device, you’ll need to sign in again to see the change take effect and use the account. Reinstatement doesn’t restore your previous session.
If Manage subscription isn’t available, or opening the billing portal fails, see the troubleshooting entries in Upgrade or change your plan.
Other suspension reasons
If the reason shown in the banner is anything other than payment_failed,
the automatic payment-recovery steps above won’t apply. Contact support for
help getting the account reinstated.
