Get AI alternatives for a post

Select Regenerate on a pending or approved post to get four new AI-written versions of its text, then pick the one you want to keep.

Before you start

The post must not be posted yet. Once a post is posted, its content is locked and Regenerate no longer appears. Each time you select Regenerate, it uses 4 of your monthly AI generations, one for each alternative it writes, whether or not you keep any of them (see Understand your plan and usage).

Steps

  1. Open the post from the Content page.
  2. Select Regenerate. On the post’s page this button sits with the other post actions above the editor. On the narrower Post Detail screen it’s in the toolbar above the content.
  3. Wait while the app writes four alternatives. The panel shows “Generating alternatives…” (post’s page) or “Generating…” (Post Detail) while it works.
  4. Review the versions that come back.
  5. Pick the version you want.
    • On Post Detail, select Use this on the alternative you want. It saves immediately, and your post’s content updates right away.
    • On the post’s page, select the alternative’s own text to load it into the editor, then select Save to keep it.

Your original AI-generated text isn’t lost. The app keeps it separately from whatever you save over it, so you can still open History to go back to an earlier version.

Getting fewer than four

Sometimes the app can only produce some of the four alternatives. On Post Detail, if fewer than four come back you’ll see: “Got {n} of 4 — try again for more.” Select Regenerate again to try for the rest. The post’s page (“Alternative Versions” panel) has no equivalent partial-count message. If fewer than four come back there, no count is shown either way.

If something goes wrong

“No alternatives came back. Try again in a moment.” Shown on the post’s page (“Alternative Versions” panel) whenever no alternatives were returned. Select Regenerate again.

If you’ve hit your plan’s AI generations limit for the month, the same plan-limit window used elsewhere in the app appears instead of any alternatives: “You’ve hit your plan limit” with “You’ve used {used} of {limit} AI generations this month.” Select Upgrade your plan to add more capacity, or Maybe later to close it and continue without regenerating this post. See Understand your plan and usage for more on this limit.

Any other failure shows its own message in the alternatives panel, for example “Regenerate failed” (Post Detail) or “Could not generate alternatives. Try again.” (post’s page). Select Regenerate again. If it keeps failing, try again in a few minutes.
