Get AI alternatives for a post

Select Regenerate on a pending post to get up to three new AI-written versions of its text. Then pick the one you want to keep.

Before you start

Regenerate only shows on a platform version that’s still pending. You won’t see it once that version is approved or posted.

Each alternative uses one of your monthly AI text generations. So one click can use up to three. They count whether or not you keep any of them. See Understand your plan and usage.

Steps

  1. Open the post from the Posts page.
  2. If the post has more than one platform, pick the tab for the one you want to rewrite.
  3. Select Regenerate under the text editor. If your plan has a monthly limit, the button also shows how many you have left, like “{n} left this month”. If you have unsaved changes, the app saves them first. The alternatives are based on your current text.
  4. Wait while the app writes. The panel says “Writing alternatives…”.
  5. Read the alternatives in the panel under the editor. It’s called “Alternatives — based on your current text”. Each one shows its character count next to the platform’s limit. On a phone, they open in a sheet called “Alternatives”.
  6. Select Use this on the one you want. It replaces the text in the editor. A “Replaced” message pops up with an Undo button for a few seconds.
  7. Select Save to keep it.

The AI keeps your message and facts. It changes the wording and the order. It doesn’t add hashtags or a sign-off, and the ones you have stay as they are.

Your earlier text isn’t lost. The original text is kept apart from whatever you save over it. Saving a change also adds an entry to History. Open History to go back to an earlier version.

Getting fewer than three

If you have fewer than three generations left this month, you get only as many as you have left. The panel says: “Only {n} generations were left, so here are {n}.”

The alternatives wait for you until you save one. A tab with alternatives waiting shows a small “{n} ready” mark. Selecting Regenerate again shows the same ones. It doesn’t write new ones or use more generations. To get a fresh set, save one of them first, or reload the page.

If something goes wrong

“Nothing came back. Try again in a moment.”: The AI didn’t send back anything you can use. Select Regenerate again.

“Couldn’t write alternatives. Try again.”: The rewrite failed. Select Try again. If it keeps failing, wait a few minutes and try again.

“Monthly generations used up”: You’ve used all of this month’s AI text generations, or reached your plan’s AI fair-use cap. Select Upgrade to see plans, or wait until your allowance resets.

Regenerate is grayed out and says “No generations left this month”: You have none left. Select Upgrade, or wait until your allowance resets. The Usage page in Settings shows the reset date.
