Publish manually with an export file
The app used to have a Download files (manifest) button on the post’s page. It saved a file with each platform’s text, links, and media, so you could post by hand. That button is no longer in the app. This page explains what you can do instead.
When you’d post by hand
Publishing to social platforms can be turned off where you work. Then Post Now shows “Publishing is turned off in this environment — approved posts stay in the queue for manual posting.”
Approving a post still records your approval. The post stays Approved on the Posts page. To get it onto a platform, you post it yourself in that platform’s own app or website.
Steps
- Open the post from the Posts page.
- Select the tab for one platform.
- Select the text in the editor and copy it.
- Paste it into that platform’s own app or website, and add the post’s image or video there.
- Repeat for each platform tab.
How this relates to approval
Posting by hand doesn’t change the post’s status in PostSignOff. Nothing in the app marks it as posted for you. There’s no action to do that afterward either. So the post stays Approved, and it won’t show up on the History page.
Keep one thing in mind if publishing is turned back on later. An approved post can still publish from PostSignOff then. If its scheduled time has already passed, it can go out right away. To keep a post you already put up by hand from going out twice, reject it or delete it.
